James Beard Blended Burgers

Sun is out, school is almost up, and it's the perfect weather to enjoy some burgers on the patio! Whether you want to throw down on the grill, or enjoy the view from your kitchen, these burgers packed with flavor will have you feeling ready for Summer.


Making "blended burgers" is a great way to add a flavorful and nutritional punch to your burgers. Mushrooms are very sustainably grown and packed with vitamins and nutrients. They add amazing flavor to your burger, while reducing the amount of beef you eat. When you dig into these burgers, you wont even know what hit you!

  • Cookhouse Burger Sauce


Blended Burgers

4 Servings


What You Will Need:


  • 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil

  • 1 pound Button Mushrooms, chopped

  • 1/2 cup Onion, minced

  • 1 pound Ground Beef

  • 4 slices Cheddar Cheese

  • 4 Tablespoons Butter

  • 4 Hamburger Buns, sliced in half

Procedure:


1. In large skillet, add oil over high heat. Add Mushrooms, onion, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook down until all liquid is evaporated, scraping bottom of pan frequently.


2. When mixture is pretty dry, remove from pan and chill.




3. Mix chilled mushroom mixture with ground beef until well incorporated, and form into 4 patties.



4. Season burger patties with salt and pepper and cook on a grill or a skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.


5. Top with cheese and cover for 1 minute or until melted.



6. For buns, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Place cut side of buns into the melted butter and let brown for 1-2 minutes until toasty. Remove from heat.


7. Fill buns with burger patties and sauce. Serve with fries and additional sauce for dipping.

Baked Steak Fries 4 Servings


  • 1.5 pound Russet Potatoes

  • 3 Tablespoons Veg Oil

  • 1 Tablespoon house Spice

  • 1 Tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt


Note: *Ingredients for all recipes included in bulk. Please thoroughly follow

recipes and measure accordingly*


Procedure:

1. Preheat oven to 450 and place rack on top rack.

2. Cut potatoes into ½ inch wedges, about 10 pieces per potato.

3. This step is optional, but essential if you want crispy potatoes) Place in a large pot with hot water just to cover the potatoes.


4. Add 1 Tbsp salt and bring to a simmer and cook for 4 minutes. Drain water, lay potatoes in single layer on a baking sheet with paper towel underneath, and allow to dry and cool to room temp.


5. Remove wet towel from baking sheet and dry more if necessary. Toss potatoes with oil, 1 teaspoon salt, and Cookhouse Seasoning Mix.


6. Arrange in single layer and bake for 20 minutes.


7. Turn potatoes over and cook for an additional 10 minutes, or until tender in the middle and crispy outside.

8. Serve with dipping sauce.

Burger Sauce

Prepared by Cookhouse 4 Servings


  • 1/3 cup Ketchup

  • 1/3 cup Mayo

  • 3 Tablespoons Creole Mustard

  • 1 Tablespoon granulated Onion

  • 2 pack Crystal Hot Sauce

  • 1 teaspoon Sugar

  • ¼ teaspoon each salt and pepper


Procedure:

  1. Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate until ready to use. (Photo)
